About Us

Alex Jacobson

Alex has worked with dogs professionally since 2018, starting his career as a professional dog walker. His desire to improve the lives of dogs led him to volunteer with various animal rescues in the Los Angeles area, where he gained experience working with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs.

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) with 500+ hours of continuing education, Alex is committed to staying up to date on the latest behavior research while also studying foundational works that remain relevant today. He regularly attends conferences and engages with experts in the field to refine his approach to training and behavior.

Alex is an active member and top contributor in the Constructional Approach to Animal Welfare and Training (CAAWT) community, where he collaborates with others to design and implement behavior plans that improve animal welfare and strengthen human-animal relationships.

Beyond individual training, Alex works closely with shelters and rescues to support dogs and families in need, providing training and guidance to help dogs transition successfully into their new homes. He has a deep compassion for all animals, with a particular passion for working with dogs that struggle to communicate their needs and require extra patience and understanding.Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA)

Kelli Jacobson

Kelli is a dedicated dog trainer whose work is rooted in the science of behavior, ensuring that training is both effective and compassionate. Since adopting a vegan lifestyle in 2009 as a clear stand against animal exploitation, she has remained deeply committed to extending empathy, understanding, and advocacy to all living beings.

Her passion for rescuing animals began early, when she became the neighborhood’s go-to for lost and stray pets. That instinct to protect and advocate now shapes her work strengthening the bond between dogs and their humans.

Since 2018, Kelli has been an active leader in the Los Angeles rescue community, serving in roles ranging from transporter to director of operations. These experiences gave her invaluable insight into the challenges faced by rescue organizations and adopters alike, ultimately guiding her toward her true calling: helping dogs and their guardians navigate behavioral challenges with clarity, skill, and heart.

In addition to her training work, Kelli is currently helping build the Los Angeles initiative for Dogs Matter, a Texas-based nonprofit that supports pet guardians entering treatment programs by placing their beloved animal companions in safe, loving foster homes while they focus on recovery. Supporting both humans and their animals is central to her mission. She believes protecting that bond during vulnerable moments can be transformative for everyone involved.

Kelli is deeply committed to continuing her education and refining her skills. She actively pursues advanced coursework, including Shaping Skills Through Reinforcement Systems and Shaping Skills for Teaching Specific Behaviors, ensuring her methods stay aligned with the latest research and best practices in behavior science.

Beyond individual clients, she and her team partner with local organizations to offer group training classes that empower the next generation of handlers and advocates. She believes education is the foundation for lasting change, and by making high-quality training accessible, she aims to strengthen relationships and create more confident, supported families.

Kelli feels incredibly grateful to work in a field that aligns so closely with her values, alongside her husband, Alex, who shares her dedication to improving the lives of animals and the people who love them.
